1. General information
This subject aims to provide resources for the observation of real SFL classes (which implies knowing the typology of the centers where the practices are carried out as well as their training plan) and the writing of a report of these activities.
External internships are a central part of the training in the teaching of SFL. They complement the theoretical knowledge acquired in the rest of the subjects and allow to develop them in a controlled way. The mandatory Practicum I is essential for the performance of the internships contemplated in Practicum II. Both internships are arranged through UNIVERSA.
These approaches correspond to the following SDGs: 4, 5, 10, 16, 17. An advanced instrumental mastery of the Spanish language is required (non-native students will be required to have a B2 level of Spanish).
2. Learning results
Upon completion of the subject, the student will be able to:
-identify and categorize the various situations (different linguistic level of students, class composition, teaching objectives) faced by SFL teachers.
-project grammatical knowledge into didactic strategies for the teaching of grammar in SFL.
-plan and design SFL classes according to the linguistic knowledge level of the students.
-identify and critically evaluate the planning, structure and execution of a SFL class through observation.
-plan and design SFL classes according to the linguistic and cultural profile of the students.
-teach actual classes after preparing them and discussing their work with the tutor.
3. Syllabus
1. Study and prospection of the typology of SFL centers. Knowledge and analysis of the internship center and the group assigned to carry out the classroom observation.
2. SFL curriculum: analysis of the different situations in the SFL classroom according to the levels of knowledge, the class composition, the available means, etc.
3. Observation of SFL classes (according to an observation template adjusted to the characteristics of the internship center and filled in by the student).
4. Academic activities
-Meetings with academic and center tutors. -Review of the training activities contract (UNIVERSA) as well as their schedule.
-Previous knowledge and study of the assigned group.
-Review of the key competencies of teachers.
-Live observation of SFL classes.
-Filling in of observation templates for SFL classes.
-Preparation of the Internship Report 1.
The internship schedule will be specified at the beginning of the academic year. The calendar of the internship centers must be taken into account in addition to that of the UZ.
5. Assessment system
